We had great spring weather for Brendan’s Downtown Ann Arbor Senior Session – everything was blooming and lush with color!  We ventured around the campus area which has such great history – the buildings are amazing!  Brendan brought along his furry friend Osito and as many of you know – I absolutely love dogs!  Osito was a sweet reminder of my Cleo dog – his looks and personality were so very similar (he may have made my day)!  It was so great to work with Brendan – I wish him all the best in his upcoming college adventure!

I was excited to work with Sarah for her Ypsilanti senior session – she chose Eastern Michigan’s campus for the session.  I love venturing out to new locations for sessions – EMU is a beautiful setting with history and character!  Spring was bursting at the seams with gorgeous blooms and lush green all around.  Sarah was awesome to work with & it was fun to capture her just before heading off to exciting new college adventures!  Best of luck Sarah!

I’ll never forget the day when my sister handed me a print of an ultrasound – that was the moment I learned I would be an aunt for the first time!  I was so excited and could not wait to meet the baby girl that was on the way.  All of this seems like yesterday and in the blink of an eye Emma is graduating from High School!  She was one of the first kids that I started documenting as she grew and I’m so glad I did.  It was fun to watch her grow and change into a cute fun loving toddler – it was about that time when she named me Cece.  Just like that she was a big sister and then an avid tennis player in High School – time truly does fly by.  We had so much fun doing her senior session at Ypsilanti’s Depot Town and at the farm – two of my favorite places!  I took photos of her the day she was born and now she is an amazing young woman ready to head off to college.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her, I might be just a little proud!  Good luck Emma, you’ll do great!  xo Cece

Evan & Mikah’s Ann Arbor portrait session at County Farm Park was such fun – thoughts of it make me miss fall!  When I first met Evan and Mikah, they were tiny preemies that fit right in the palm of my hands. Now they are big kids with all sorts of personality! We met up at Ann Arbor’s County Farm Park on a gorgeous late fall day. We really lucked out this fall with so many beautiful warm days. It’s been so fun capturing these two and watching them grow and change – I look forward to seeing them again!

Naabia’s Ypsilanti Senior Session was super fun here on the farm!  She liked the rustic character of the old barns which of course is one of my favorite things.  The light was beautiful that day just as it was beginning to set – I love how it comes through the slats of the barn.  She was so great to work with – I wish all the best in her senior year and beyond!

Olivia loves her time on Portage Lake so it was a must to have some of her senior portrait session taken there!  She also liked the rustic character of the farm so we fit in some shots here as well.  The lake was so beautiful – we waited for just the right light as the sun was setting.  Her faithful furry friend Sirena joined in the session as well – like I always say I’m not sure what’s more difficult – pets or toddlers!  It was great to photograph Olivia again – I really can’t believe she is a high school senior!  I wish her all the best in her senior year and beyond!

I met up with Matthew at the always beautiful Matthaei Botanical Gardens for his Ann Arbor senior session. He grew up spending time on the trails of the gardens so it only made sense to capture him as a senior there as well! The trails were gorgeous that day (I’m missing all that green right about now) and as the sun was setting everything just got more amazing! It was so great working with Matthew, I wish him all the best in his senior year and beyond!

Clara’s favorite Michigan season is winter – the Arb in Ann Arbor worked perfectly for her senior session!  We were patiently waiting for snow to arrive during this unseasonably warm winter we are having and finally it showed up!  The Arb is beautiful no matter the season but I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked covered in snow!  It was super fun to have a little winter adventure for a senior session – best of luck to Clara in her senior year & beyond!

Nica & Lola’s late Fall Ypsilanti portrait session here on the farm was so much fun!  These two cuties love the outdoors so they enjoyed running around the farm!  I made sure to keep a pile a leaves for them to jump in – who doesn’t love that!  They are so cute together – I can bet these two will be close sisters as they grow up.  It was so great to capture them – I can’t wait to see them again soon!

Who goes to Iceland in February you ask – I did with hopes of seeing the Northern Lights!  We flew out of Toronto leaving a beautiful sunset behind & arrived on a very early Saturday morning filled with fog and mist.  We stayed at a lovely rental home right on the water in Vogar – the view was amazing!  After a much needed nap, we were eager to get out to see at least a few sights on our first day.  The Reykjanes peninsula is on one of the world’s major tectonic plate boundaries, the Mid Atlantic Ridge – the bridge between two Continents was a must!  On our way to the Krýsuvík Geothermal area we had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest Icelandic horses – I wanted to take them all home with me!  Krýsuvík had such amazing landscape with it’s bubbling mud and water, moss covered rock and beautiful hills – it made us feel like we were on a different planet, like nothing we had ever seen.  Day two took us into the city of Reykjavík where we discovered interesting street art, delicious hot dogs & friendly locals willing to give advice on what to see next!  Before the trip we were told to take our bathing suits every where you go – it’s true!  We ended the day with a warm outdoor swim at a geothermal pool.  We started day three out nice and early as we had plenty to see – the Golden Circle was on our agenda.  First stops were Þingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall – the Geysir erupted every 4 minutes!   The second half of the day took us to Faxi waterfall, Skálholt Cathedral & Kerið Crater – we were surrounded by beauty the entire day!  Our fourth & final full day started out with snow which changed our plans a bit but we still managed to find amazing sights.  We spent some time aimlessly driving around after which my cousin Ellen went into a convenience store for directions on what to see.  The store clerk drew her the smallest map on a sticky note to a Geysir with this advice, “Don’t go off the path or you will die!”.  So of course we headed there next although I’m not sure how we ever found it!  It was another great find with constant furious steam coming from the ground – you really couldn’t see anything when walking through it!  Very near there was a beautiful cliff which was the location of the first lighthouse in Iceland – all in all it was a great day!  Every day that we were in Iceland we were persistently checking the Aurora forecast with hopes of seeing the Northern Lights – so far nothing.  Our last evening was turning out to be the most clear night so far, the prediction was still low.  Sometimes fate has it’s magical ways and at 12:30am green lights appeared in the sky which led to waking everyone in the house, (thank goodness for Ellen’s insomnia)!  I grabbed my camera and tripod and started snapping – it was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen!  We watched the green light dance across the sky for around 40 minutes and just like that they were fading away – sleep did not come easy after that excitement!  Iceland was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever traveled to and I was lucky to be with such a fun, adventurous group of people – we really had an amazing trip!

William’s late fall senior session at The Arb in Ann Arbor was so awesome!  It’s not every day that you encounter a controlled burn happening in the back ground of a session – it certainly added an interesting look to some of the photos!  The Arb is such a beautiful setting no matter the time of year – there were still bits of fall hanging on with the chill of winter in the air.  It was so great working with William for his senior session – I wish him all the best in his senior year and beyond!

Ypsilanti’s Depot Town is one of my favorite places, especially for photo sessions!  How is it possible that these two kiddos are this old?! I’ve been photographing Jade and Jett now for quite some time & Jett still manages to keep me on my toes!  Depot Town has so many fun options from the lush park along the Huron River to the historic brick buildings to the new industrial bridge near Michigan Ave!  Their adorable dog Skye was also part of the mix and of course she loved the park!  As always I had such fun capturing these two – I can’t wait to see them again soon!

To change things up for Grace & Christian’s 9 month session, I visited them at their farmhouse! They are changing so quickly and they are just as quick as they crawl around the house! It’s been so awesome to capture these two cuties as they’ve grown in their first year. I can’t wait to see them for their one year session!
