Matthaei Botanical Gardens portrait session with Aubrey

Matthaei Botanical Gardens is absolutely stunning at summer’s peak – it was a perfect spot for Aubrey’s portrait session!  I’ve been capturing Aubrey every year since she was just one week old – it’s been such a pleasure capturing her as she grows into the fun kid that she is today!  She has such a sweet and easy going personality – I don’t think I’ve ever seen her in a bad mood, which of course makes my job easier!  It was such a treat to wander around the amazing gardens finding different colorful spots that worked perfectly for Aubrey.  She loved checking out the Gaffield Children’s Garden – so many things to explore!

Ann Arbor’s Matthaei Gardens is also a great location for senior pictures as seen here on my blog. The gardens have several miles of trails just right for capturing seniors in a nature element.  Trails and gardens which promise interesting senior photos include: The Gateway Garden known for its many spring flowering bulbs, annuals and perennials alike as well as an arch on which to sit or lean surrounded by color. The Perennial Garden with a wide variety of plants and options for poses. If you’re planning a session at Matthaei Botanical Gardens, just know they do charge a small fee of $35 to use the garden area for a photo session.  Well worth it in my opinion!  You can find more information here.
