I absolutely love it when a high school senior chooses my quaint little farm for rustic senior pictures – check out this blog post for the results! I feel so fortunate to live on our historic family farm that my dad still currently farms. You may even see him on a tractor when you’re here for a session! The old barns offer rich texture and a unique setting. The surrounding fields offer such a variety of lush color depending on the season. It could be vivid green or golden brown, both amazing! My dad gets a laugh each time I tell him the seniors love his old farm truck – it has character for sure! My Summer Dreams dahlias pop with color in late summer which works out perfectly for photos!
Sunflowers are a new addition to the farm! I tried my very best to have a green thumb last summer (with my dad’s help of course) and grew some pretty amazing sunflowers. They worked out so well for late summer senior pictures. I’m hoping for the same results this summer!
We can also take a quick drive down the road for more scenery resulting in unique backdrops for your rustic senior pictures. The always beautiful LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve is such an amazing, peaceful setting no matter the time of year. With tall cattails and wildflowers you can’t go wrong! While you’re at the farm you may even catch a beautiful sunset – a perfect way to end the session.
Depot Town is a great add on
If you’re looking to do a two hour session, Depot Town is a great add on to the rustic farm location. It has so much to offer – historic brick buildings, alleyways with character, and the always amazing Huron River. Let’s not forget about Ypsilanti’s tridge that that goes over the Huron River connecting to Frog Island and Riverside Park. The industrial pedestrian bridge on the other side of the park is one of my favorite spots as well. To see what a Depot Town session looks like – check out Phoebe’s awesome senior pictures.
